The Misericordia University men's volleyball team defeated Wilkes, 3-1, Tuesday night on Doc Mould Court.
Jackson Fehnel and
Christopher U'Glay had 11 kills each to lead the Cougars while
Noah Reen added eight kills.
Tyler Knoop had three blocks and
Evan Schmidt had 21 assists.
Fehnel and
Richie Ragonese had 10 digs each.
The Cougars cruised to a 25-13 win in the first set, but Wilkes rallied to take the second set, 25-19.
U'Glay had two kills as part of 10-0 run to give the Cougars a 24-12 lead in the opener and Reed clinched it with a kill.
After dropping the second set, the Cougars won the third set, 25-23.
U'Glay,
Isaac Griffin and Fehnel had consecutive kills to break a 12-12 tie and put MU in front for good.
Knoop's smash down the middle gave the Cougars a 19-16 lead and
Benjamin Clendening added a kill in the same spot to make it 21-18.
Misericordia scored its last four points on Wilkes errors to win, 25-23.
Griffin had back-to-back kills, including a smash down the right sideline to key a 4-0 run to give MU a 6-2 lead in the finale.
Knoop had two straight solo blocks in the middle to extend the lead to 10-4 and U'Glay hit though a blocker on the left side to make it 11-5.
Fehnel's rip down the middle put MU up 15-8 Reen's cross-court kill from the right pin made it 21-13.
Wilkes rallied to get within 23-19, but Fehnel had two kills to close out the 25-20 win.
