Tori Ellex captured the 50 free title to lead the Misericordia University women's swim team on the opening day of the MAC Championships, Thursday at the Graham Aquatics Center in York.
Ellex (23.63) was joined by
Cali White (4
th) and
Brianna Foote (8
th) in the final.
Ellex closed the night on the anchor leg of the runner-up 200 medley relay as she teamed with
Kaylee DePietro,
Lindsey Rice and Foote to break their own school record (1:46.16).
Tamsin Formon (5:17.11) opened the evening session with a third-place finish in the 500 free.
Peyton Stauffer (2:11.35) followed with a fourth-place finish in the 200 IM while Rice was eighth.
Angelina Dechert won the B Final in the 50 free while Maddie Cunningham was 11
th and DePietro and
Jaelyn Baxter finished 17
th and 18
th, respectively.
Carline Kovacs finished 13
th in the 200 IM while
Taylar Fisher was 19
th and
Allison Grosvenor was 23
rd.
Taegan Williams was 15
th in the 500 free and Dechert,
Chloe Amadori, Cunningham and Baxter finished 14
th in the 200 medley relay.
The Cougars are in second place in the team standings with 323 points. Stevens leads the 11-team field with 344 points.
