The Misericordia University softball team opened its MAC Freedom schedule with a split of doubleheader, against Delaware Valley, Sunday at Anderson Field.

The Cougars won the opener, 8-6, but dropped the second game, 7-2.

Kiersten Tinio had two hits and four RBI in the opener and
Gabby Cruz struck out seven to earn the complete game win.

Bridget Doherty gave the Cougars a 1-0 lead with a single and Tinio followed with a bases-loaded double to make it 4-0 in the bottom of the second.

Cruz helped her own cause with an RBI-single in the fourth and Tinio added an RBI-double.

Gianna Foreman led the Cougars with two hits in the nightcap.

The Aggies scored two runs in each of the first three innings to build a 6-0 lead.
