The Misericordia University women's lacrosse team opened its MAC Freedom schedule with a 13-3 victory over FDU-Florham, Wednesday night at Mangelsdorf Field.

Kristen Travaglini led the Cougars with three goals and an a assist while
Delaney Campanella and
Adison Harner added two goals and an assist.

Both teams got off to a slow start as neither was able to find the back of the net for nearly 11 minutes.

Campanella broke the scoring drought after causing a turnover at midfield, collecting the ground ball, and cutting through multiple defenders before finishing in front of the cage.

The Cougars kept up the pressure as Travaglini worked behind the net and found
Jenna Jacques just outside the crease for a quick finish, giving Misericordia a 2-0 lead in the final three minutes of the quarter.

Misericordia continued its momentum in the second quarter as Harner converted on a free-position opportunity at the 13-minute mark.

Nearly two minutes later, Campanella pushed a fast break down the right side, cut to the middle, then spun back to her right and scored, extending the lead to 4-1 with a short-handed goal.

With less than three minutes remaining in the half, Travaglini cut across the front of the goal from the left side and buried a shot into the top right corner, sending Misericordia into halftime with a 6-3 advantage.

The Cougars' dominance carried into the third quarter, where they outscored FDU-Florham 2-0 behind goals from Travaglini and Harner to extend the lead to 8-3.

Misericordia stayed aggressive in the final quarter, outscoring the Devils 5-0. Goals from
Jenna Romito and
Madison Hushon helped cap off the 13-3 win in the MAC Freedom opener.
