The Misericordia University softball team swept a doubleheader from DeSales, 9-1, 6-3, to extend its win streak to 10, Saturday at Anderson Field.

Kiersten Tinio had two hits and two RBI in the opener and
Gianna Russo drove in two runs while
Casey Funesti had two hits.

Gabby Cruz struck out five and scattered five hits over six innings to earn the win.

Rylie Nasso had three hits and two RBI in the night cap and
Bridget Doherty added three hits, including a triple and double. Tinio, Russo and
Mackenzie Fizer all had two hits.

Morgan Kelly picked up the win with four innings of relief.

The Cougars scored four runs in the bottom of the first in game one and put the game away with three runs in the bottom of the sixth.

Doherty opened game one with an opposite field single. She stole second and scored on Tinio's double to center. Funesti singled with one out and Russo reached on a fielder's choice to drive in a run. Foreman and Nasso followed with back-to-back RBI-doubles to make it 4-0.

Fizer added a sac fly in the second and Funesti made it 6-0 with an RBI-single in the fourth.

Doherty walked to open the sixth and came all the way around on Tinio's double to right. Fizer drove in a run with a double to left and later scored on Russo's sacrifice fly to make it 9-1.

The Cougars jumped to a quick lead again in game two. Doherty singled up the middle, stole second and scored on Tinio's single to left center. Fizer singled and Russo reached on an infield single to load the bases. Nasso followed with a two-out, infield single to give MU a 2-0 lead.

MU added three more in the third. Russo singled up the middle and came around on Foreman's double to the wall in the center. Nasso singled through the left side and
Emmalee Mowery made it 4-1 with a sacrifice fly to left. Doherty drove in a run with a triple to give MU a 5-1 lead.

Nasso's two-out single in the bottom of the fourth extended the Cougars' lead to 6-1.
