The Misericordia University women's lacrosse team celebrated Senior Appreciation Day with a 17-0 win over Delaware Valley, Saturday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.

Delaney Campanella led the Cougars with five goals while
Ashtyn Torbert added four. Â
Alicia Pileggi and
Riley Fischer recorded two goals apiece and Ryan Gross posted five saves in the shutout.

Misericordia's offense came out firing early as
Kristen Travaglini dished to
Jenna Jacques cutting down the middle, where she buried the shot to give the Cougars a 1-0 lead within the first two minutes.

Campanella kept the pressure on, finding space in the middle of the defense and firing a shot past the goalie to make it 2-0.

After Campanella converted a free position attempt for her second goal, Torbert took the ball from the top, juked inside her defender and buried a shot into the top left corner to extend the lead to 4-0 with just over 10 minutes left in the first.

Leading 4-0 with seven minutes remaining,
Adison Harner carried the ball around the net, split two defenders and slipped a low shot past the goalie to give Misericordia a 5-0 advantage.

The Cougars closed the first quarter with an 8-0 lead as Travaglini, Campanella and Fischer each found the back of the net.

In the second quarter, Misericordia continued its offensive dominance as Campanella converted a man-up goal to push the lead to 9-0 with 11 minutes remaining.

Leading 10-0 with just over three minutes left in the half, Pileggi intercepted a pass, cut through the middle of the defense and fired a shot into the back of the net to make it 11-0. The Cougars added another free position goal in the final 30 seconds to take a 12-0 lead into halftime.

Coming out of halftime, Misericordia showed no signs of slowing down as Harner found Pileggi cutting down the middle for a quick goal in the opening minute, extending the lead to 13-0.

The Cougars outscored Delaware Valley 4-0 the rest of the way, with goals from Torbert,
Gianna Guensch and Fischer to secure the 17-0 shutout victory.
