The Misericordia University softball team salvaged a split with Marywood, Wednesday at Anderson Field.

After dropping the opener, 8-1, the Cougars cruised to an 11-2 win in five innings in game two.

Rylie Nasso,
Gianna Russo and
Kaliana Auchey all had two hits in the opener.

With two outs and nobody on in the bottom of the first, Russo singled up the middle and went to third when
Gianna Foreman reached on an error.

Auchey singled up the middle to drive in the Cougars' only run of the game.

Kiersten Tinio had three hits, three RBI and three runs in the nightcap and Doherty had two hits and scored three runs.

Auchey and
Casey Funesti both had two hits and two RBI.

Gabby Cruz struck out four over three innings to earn the win.

The Cougars batted around in the bottom of the first in game two and never looked back.

Doherty led off with a stand-up triple to left center and Tinio lined a single to left center to give MU a 1-0 lead.
Fizer walked and both runners moved up on a wild pitch and later scored on Russo's single.Â
Alicia Moran reached on a two-out single and Auchey tripled down the right field line to drive in a pair and make it 5-0.

MU added two more in the second. Doherty was hit by a pitch and scored on Tinio's double off the wall in left center. One out later, Funesti singled to right field to make it 7-1.

The Cougars put the game away with four runs in the third.

Tinio, Fizer and Funesti all had RBI-hits and Russo added a sac fly down the left field line to give MU an 11-1 lead.
