The Misericordia University men's lacrosse season came to an end with a hard-fought 12-7 loss to Lebanon Valley, Saturday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.

Jack Simone led the Cougars with two goals and three assists and
Jason Giambrone and
Patrick Dwyer added two goals each.

Ian Young had a goal and an assist and
Ty Murawski had two assists.

Leyton Sullivan made 14 saves in goal.

Lebanon Valley built a 5-0 lead before the Cougars got on the board with a man-up goal in the final minute of the first quarter.

Giambrone took a pass on the left post and fired a low shot inside the right post with :17 remaining in the period.

Young took a pass from Simone on the right wing and turned and fired from 12-feet out to get within 5-2 with 10:23 left in the second period, but Lebanon Valley extended the lead to 7-2 at halftime.

MU got within 8-5 with a three goals in the third quarter.

Simone hit Giambrone in stride near the left post less than three minutes into the second half and Dwyer bounced a shot in to beat the shot clock with 9:35 left in the third period.

After a Leb Val goal, Murawski threaded a pass to Dwyer for a man-up goal on the right post with 5:48 left in the third quarter.

Simone scored a pair of goals in the fourth quarter to get the Cougars within 10-7, with 6:16 to play, but the Dutchmen scored twice in the final 2:08.

Misericordia finished 9-7 overall and 3-4 in the MAC Freedom.
