The Misericordia University women's lacrosse team fell to Stevens, 22-5, Wednesday night in the MAC Freedom Semifinals.
Â
Delaney Campanella led the Cougars with three goals while
Adison Harner and
Kristen Travaglini added a goal apiece.
Â
Trailing 9-0 after a difficult first quarter, the Cougars found a spark early in the second when Campanella finished from the left flank to put Misericordia on the board.
Â
Nearly four minutes into the third, Harner scooped up a ground ball and raced to the middle before slotting a shot into the bottom corner as Misericordia looked to build momentum.
Â
Campanella struck again moments later, gaining inside position and lifting a shot just beyond the goalie's reach to trim the deficit to 14-3.
Â
After a Stevens goal, Campanella completed her hat trick with a free-position goal with just under seven minutes remaining in the third.
Â
Travaglini made a quick move to her right before cutting back left, creating space to fire a shot into the top of the cage for the Cougars' final goal late in the fourth quarter.
