Misericordia University Athletics

The Misericordia University field hockey team grabbed a 1-0 victory at Oneonta to extend its win streak to four straight, Wednesday evening.
 
Madison Lasinski scored the game-winning goal while Jordan Nonnemacher made four saves in the shutout.
 
The Cougar offense took control early in the first quarter as Lasinski took the ball near the left post and fired a shot that was kicked away by the Oneonta goalie three minutes into the game.
 
Lasinski put another shot on target 30 seconds later.
 
Misericordia found multiple opportunities throughout the quarter with shots from Madison Blauch, Celeste Hoffman, Ashleigh Steele and Ava Cirigliano but was unable to find the back of the cage as the quarter ended 0-0.
 
MU kept attacking to begin the second and Lasinski took the ball up the middle, beat the defender to the right flank and slotted a shot inside the left post less three minutes into the second quarter.
 
Delaney Miller had a good look at the goal off a penalty corner that was just kicked away by the goalie in the final minute of the first half.
 
With four minutes left in the third, Oneonta got the ball on the right flank, but Nonnemacher stepped up and made the save, kicking the ball away for the clear to preserve the shutout.
 
Nonnemacher was called upon shortly after when a Red Dragons penalty corner saw the ball delivered to the left post, forcing the MU goalie to make a diving stop.
