Chuck Edkins will transition from his role as Executive Director of Athletics and Recreation at Misericordia University to Senior Alumni Philanthropy Officer in the University Advancement Division, effective November, 30, 2026, Dr. Daniel Myers, Misericordia President, has announced.

Edkins recently celebrated his 35th anniversary at Misericordia where he has served numerous leadership roles, including Executive Director of Athletics and Recreation and head men's soccer and baseball coach.

He spent 25 years as the head men's soccer coach and 13 seasons as the head baseball coach.  He compiled a 283-159-5 record in soccer while leading the Cougars to seven conference championships.

"Chuck's impact on Misericordia athletics spans decades and includes championship successes, postseason appearances and the mentorship of countless student-athletes whose lives have been shaped by his commitment to excellence, integrity, and service," said Myers.  "More importantly, Chuck has built enduring relationships across the Misericordia community. His deep connections with alumni, parents, friends, and supporters of the university, combined with his understanding of our mission and culture, make him exceptionally well-suited for this new role. He brings a unique perspective shaped by decades of service and a genuine appreciation for the generations of students and alumni who have helped define the Misericordia experience."

Scott Miner, senior associate director of athletics, will serve as interim director of athletics.
