The Misericordia University women's volleyball team dropped a pair of matches at the Haverford Invitational, Saturday.
 
The Cougars dropped the opener to Lancaster Bible, 3-0, and lost to Stockton in the nightcap, 3-0.
 
Cassandra Genduso was named to the All-Tournament team.
 
Genduso led the Cougars with seven kills against Lancaster Bible while Sarah Steeber added six.
 
Genduso struck first in the opening set with a kill to give Misericordia an early lead. The Chargers responded with three straight points to take a 3-1 lead. Although the Cougars battled early, Lancaster Bible remained in control for the remainder of the set and closed it out, 25-16.
 
Trailing 2-0 to begin the second set, Steeber recorded a kill to get the Cougars on the board.
 
Misericordia capitalized on a Chargers error to tie the set at 2-2. Lancaster Bible claimed three of the next four points, but an ace from Colleen Kelleher evened the score, 5-5.
 
After back-and-forth play kept the set close at 10-9, Lancaster Bible used a 9-1 run to take a 19-10 lead. The Cougars attempted a comeback, scoring three straight points and cutting the deficit to 24-19, but the Chargers closed out the set with a block to win 25-19 and take a 2-0 lead.
 
Misericordia came out strong in the third set on kills from Taylor Marsh and Steeber to take an early 2-1 lead. An LBC attack error and a kill from Keira McCaffrey extended the Cougars' advantage to 4-2.
 
The Chargers answered with eight straight points to take a 10-4 lead. Misericordia battled back by claiming three of the next four points to pull within 11-7. After a brief exchange left MU trailing 13-8, the Cougars erupted for five straight points to tie the set at 13-13.
 
The teams continued to trade points with Lancaster Bible taking the lead before Misericordia answered each time to keep the set tied at 17-17.
 
The Chargers scored three straight points late in the set. Although the Cougars continued to battle, they fell 25-19.
 
Genduso and Keira McCaffrey led the Cougars with six kills apiece while Isabella Lutter and Taylor Marsh added five kills each.
 
Misericordia jumped out to an early 4-3 lead in the opening set after McCaffrey recorded two kills and Genduso added a kill.
The Cougars extended their advantage to 10-8 following a McCaffrey block and a Stockton attack error.
 
After the teams battled to a 15-15 tie, Stockton scored five straight points to take a 20-15 lead.
 
Misericordia answered with three consecutive points, including a pair of blocks, to cut the deficit to 21-18, but Stockton closed out the set, 25-18.
 
Stockton took an early 4-2 lead in the second set before Misericordia responded with a kill from Genduso and an attack error to tie the score at 4-4.
 
Katie Royds recorded a kill, followed by a point from McCaffrey and a kill from Lutter, as the Cougars took a 7-6 lead.
 
Stockton answered with a 13-2 run to build a 19-8 advantage.
 
Misericordia trimmed the deficit with three straight points, including a block from Marsh and a kill from Genduso, but Stockton held on to take the set, 25-15.
 
Misericordia came out strong in the third set with Marsh and McCaffrey recording kills to help the Cougars pull even at 3-3.
 
After Stockton took a 5-3 lead, MU responded with a kill from Maggie Duda and a point from Genduso to tie the set at 5-5.
 
Stockton used a 6-0 run to take an 11-5 lead.
 
The Cougars answered with three straight points to close the gap to 11-8.
 
Lutter and Royds recorded consecutive kills as Misericordia pulled within 13-11.
 
The Cougars continued to chip away at the deficit and eventually trailed 18-13 before Stockton extended its lead to 23-16.
 
Misericordia made one final push with four straight points to cut the deficit to 23-20.
Olivia Conza sparked the late run with an ace, but Stockton closed out the set, 25-20, to complete the sweep.
