2013 Volleyball (12-18)
Jen Probst served as interim head coach and Kat LaBrie was her assistant.
 
The Cougars finished 12-18 overall and qualified for the Freedom Championships (3-4) for the second straight season.
 
Meghan Stack and Kellyn Swanson both earned honorable mention All-Freedom status.
 
Nicole Tagerty had the second-highest single-season assists total (638) in school history.
 
Nicole Korgeski finished ninth in career assists (675) and Swanson moved into 10th place in career digs (925).
 
Korgeski was the team MVP and Stack earned the Coach's Award.

2012 Volleyball (18-14)
The Cougars finished 18-14 overall and qualified for the Freedom Conference championships.
 
The 18 wins were the most under head coach Jen Yuhas and the second-most in school history.
 
Senior Cailin McCullion was a first-team All-Freedom selection while Kat LaBrie and Nicole Korgeski earned honorable.
 
McCullion was a CoSida Academic All-District and a third-team Academic All-American.
 
McCullion was the team MVP while LaBrie earned the Coach's Award.
 
McCullion became the first player in school history to reach 1,000 career kills and ender her          career as the all-time leader with 1,062 kills.  She finished sixth in career hitting % (.258) and third in digs (1,273).
 
McCullion had 325 kills in 2012 – the second-highest single-season total in school history.
 
LaBrie had 270 kills in 2012 – the fourth-highest single-season total in school history and her .280 hitting percentage was ninth.  She finished ninth with 551 career kills.
 
Korgeski had the third-highest single-season assists total in school history (561) and moved into 10th place all-time with 623 assists.


2011 Volleyball (13-12)

The Cougars finished 13-12 overall, 3-4 in the Freedom, and missed the postseason by one game.  MU ended the season on a five-match winning streak. 

Senior Kristin Hoffman had the second-highest single-season assist total (572), finished second all-time (1528) and she has played in 359 games, good for fifth all-time. 

Krystal Burford finished eighth in career games played (336), seventh in career kills (593) and fourth in career blocks (116). 

Junior Cailin McCullion had the 10th-highest single-season kills total in school history with 236. 

She is third in career kills (737) and seventh in career hitting percentage (25.5%).  

Hoffman was named the team MVP while Burford received the Coach's Award.

2010 Volleyball (14-17)

The Cougars finished 14-17 overall, but 5-2 in the Freedom Conference to qualify for the post-season.

Cailin McCullion was the team MVP for the second straight season. Shannon Kane received the Coach's Award.

McCullion was a second-team All-Freedom selection. Her 275 kills were the second-highest single-season total in school history. She moved into second in career hitting percentage (.275).

Kane finished third all-time in digs (1202), fifth in aces 9149) and tied for seventh in aces/game (.46).

Kristin Hoffman finished eighth in single-season assists (429) and moved into ninth all-time (958).

Meghan Hotaling had the fourth-highest single-season assists total in school history (475) and moved into fourth in
career assists (989).


2009 Volleyball (17-10)
The Misericordia University women's volleyball team finished 17-10 in their second season in the Freedom Conference.

Freshman Cailin McCullion was the team MVP and senior Jesse Karger received the Coach's Award.

The season was highlighted by a six-match win streak and four wins in the last five matches.

Karger was seventh in single-season digs (403) and finished fifth all-time (1071). She is ninth in all-time assists (542) and sixth in games played (325).

Kristin Hoffman (433) tied for fifth in single-season assists.

Shannon Kane (54) tied for seventh in single-season aces and 10th in single-season digs (366)

Karger and Lisa Holdsworth were both four-year letter winners.


2008 Volleyball (15-11)


 
The Cougars finished 15-11 in their first season in the Freedom Conference (3-5).

 

Amy Porambo was named team MVP, and Michelle DiCicco received the Coach's Award.

 

The Cougars got off to an 11-3 start, including a runner-up finish at the King's Tournament.

 

DiCicco finished among the top-10 all-time at MU in hitting percentage (.207), kills (633) and blocks (120). Her 49 aces was the 10th-best single-season total in school history.

 

Porambo was eighth in single-season digs (372) and ninth in career aces per game (.35).

 

Rachel Hullinger finished 10th in career digs (688).

 

Porambo and Hullinger were four-year letter winners. DiCicco was also a senior.

 

 

2007 Women's Volleyball (14-11)

Misericordia showed marked improvement in Jen Yuhas' second season as head coach—MU was 14-11 and earned the third seed in the PAC playoffs at 8-3.

Senior Chavonne Potts was named team MVP for the second straight season, and Mary Beth Stellar earned the Coach's Award.

Potts finished second in career digs, third is assists, seventh in aces/game, eighth in aces and 10th in games played.

Stellar moved to sixth in career aces/game, seventh in aces, eighth in kills and 10th in digs.

Kristie Ebbecke moved to fifth in career solo blocks and ninth in total blocks.

Potts, Stellar and Ebbecke were recognized as four-year lettermen. Lauren Cacciola was also a senior.

 

2006 Women's Volleyball (7-12)

Former MU standout Jen Jones took over as head coach and guided the Cougars to a 7-12 record, including a 4-7 mark in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference.

With no seniors on the roster, the Cougars ended the season with a four-match winning streak.

Junior Chavonne Potts was the team MVP, while freshman Jesse Karger received the Coach's Award.

Karger was also honorable mention All-PAC.

Potts moved into fourth place all-time at MU in digs, while she and Mary Beth Stellar both moved into the top 10 all-time in career aces.

 

2005 Women's Volleyball (12-14)

The Cougars finished 12-14 and returned to the PAC playoffs for the first time since 2002.

Kelly Coppage, Michelle DiCicco and Amy Porambo all earned honorable mention All-PAC status.

Lauren Cacciola made the PAC All-Sportsmanship team.

Coppage set MU career records for kills (931) and digs (1,630) and is fifth in career aces.

Jennifer Kaufman finished her career among CM's top 10 in kills (5th), aces (8th) and digs (5th).

Coppage was the team MVP and Kaufman received the Coach's Award.

 

2004 Women's Volleyball (9-19)

The Cougars, under first-year head coach Kelly Cook, finished the season 9-19 and missed the playoffs for just the third time in 14 years.

Jessica Klimas was the team MVP and an All-PAC honorable selection. Chavonne Potts recieved the Coach's Award.

Klimas and Kelly Coppage broke the single-season record for digs, and Coppage became CM's career leader with 1151 digs.

 

2003 Women's Volleyball (9-18)

The Cougars missed the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) playoffs for just the second time in 13 seasons. Misericordia University needed just one win to clinch a playoff berth in the final game of the season, but fell to PAC opponent Marywood (3-1).

Senior Jennifer Jones ended her career with the school record for games played (392). Ashley Dixon extended her school record for career aces (260). Dixon (1,111), Katie Gorgos (965), and Jones (938) ranked first through third in career digs. Gorgos set a single-season record with 480 digs.

Jones was the team MVP, and freshman Jessica Klimas earned the Coach's Award. This year was also the final season for head coach Jason Jones.

 

2002 Women's Volleyball (10-22)

The Cougars qualified for the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) playoffs for the 11th time in 12 years.

Sophomore Ashley Dixon was named to the All-PAC first team while freshman Kelly Coppage was a honorable mention. Dixon set the school records for single-season aces (133), single-season digs (479), career digs (785), and ranked first in the PAC in service aces and digs. Dixon and junior Jennifer Jones set a school record for games played in a season (113).

Senior Amber Chadwick was named team MVP, while Jones earned the Coaches Award. Chadwick ended her career sixth on the all-time kills list. She was a four- year letterman and the only senior on the team.

 

2001 Women's Volleyball (7-17)

The Cougars missed the playoffs for the first time in 11 seasons. Freshman Ashley Dixon led the PAC with 1.1 aces per game and recorded the seconded-highest in school history. Dixon was selected honorable mention All-PAC.

Carolyn Borchert was the team MVP and Katie Gorgos received the Coach's Award. Borchert and Jenn McCall moved into the top 10 for all- time games played.

Also McCall is now second among the school's all-time leaders in digs. Borchert, a three-year letter winner was the only senior on the team.

2000 Women's Volleyball (16-14)

The Cougars made their 10th straight playoff appearance, including nine in the PAC and advanced to the semi-finals.

Erin Baer, Gretchen Lawler and Rachel Wyly were named second-team All-PAC. Wyly set the school records for single-season kills (352), career kills (781), single-season digs (355) and career digs (765) and ranked 10th in the PAC in service aces.

Baer led the PAC and was ranked among NCAA D-III leaders in service aces.

Lawler set a school record for games played in a career (371) and ranked 10th in the PAC in hitting percentage. Lawler, Baer, Malloy, Wyly, Jennifer Jones and Kristi Schloerb set a school record with 107 games played.

Baer, Lawler, Jodi Levin, Malloy and Wyly were recognized as four-year letter winners.

1999 Women's Volleyball (17-11)

The Cougars made their ninth straight playoff appearance, including eight in the PAC. The team finished 17-11 and reached the PAC semi-finals.

Gretchen Lawler and Angela Nihill were second team All-PAC selections. Nihill ended her career as the school's all-time assists leader (1416). Nihill, a four-year senior was four-year letter winner was named team MVP.

Jenn McCall received the Coach's Award.

 

1998 Women's Volleyball (14-10)

Under new head coach, Mike Kurilla, the Cougars made their eighth straight playoff appearance.

The Cougars opened the season by winning the Luzerne County Recreational Board Invitational for the third consecutive year, and Noelle Kuhn was elected MVP for the second straight year.

The Cougars had a seven game winning streak during the season. Kuhn was first-team All-PAC for the second time. Teammates

Rachael Wyly and Angela Nihill were honored with All-PAC honorable mention. Kunn was named team MVP, and Kristen Davis received the Coach's Award.

Nihill became the school's all-time assist leader with 983. Rayna Spencer was the lone senior on the team.

 

1997 Women's Volleyball (19-6)

The Cougars set a record for most wins in school history (19-6) and reached the finals of the PAC for the first time since 1994. Michelle Meyers and the team were ranked among the national leaders in blocks per game throughout the season.

Noelle Kuhn was named MVP at the Luzerne County Recreational Board Invitational and was first team All-PAC. Meyers was second team All-PAC. She was also named team MVP for the third time. Killeen Kane received the coach's award.

Myers, Kane and Kim Tracy were honored as four-year letter winners.

 

1996 Women's Volleyball (16-7)

With the second most wins in school history the Cougars (16-7) returned to the PAC playoffs for the fifth straight year. Misericordia opened the season by winning the Luzerne County Recreational Board Invitational for the first time. That win continued into them enjoying an opening of the season with a record 15-3.

Michelle Meyers and Ann Sickler were named to the All-PAC North Division Team. Myers was named team MVP, while Sickler received the Coach's Award.

 

1995 Women's Volleyball 

The women's volleyball team continued its post-season tradition under interim head coach Julie Oja.

With just nine players on the roster, the Cougars overcame a lack of depth to record wins on homecoming and parents day. Michelle Myers was named All-PAC.

Four-year letter winner Brenda Strait concluded her career.

1994 Women's Volleyball

The Cougars dominated competition once again and returned to the PAC championship for the third straight year. In the regular season they finished second in the PAC North. Tracy Krupa and Erin Loftus were ranked among the national leaders in service aces. Michelle Myers was selected All-PAC.

1993 Women's Volleyball

In his third season as volleyball coach, Dan Brzozowski almost accomplished a three peat. The Cougars advanced to the PAC championship but came up short in their quest for the title.

Their debut in the all new Anderson Center was the first time in three years that the volleyball team played a home game. They set a new school record with 18 wins and won 13 of its last 15 heading into the PAC tournament.

 

1992 Women's Volleyball

In their first year in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference, the Cougars won there first PAC conference championship and second consecutive conference crown. In the PAC North they went 4-1 and finished the season with 14 wins.

Kristen Myers was named first team all conference and PAC tournament MVP. She was also October's Co-Athlete of the Month. Courtney Strumski and Becky Welgosh were named second team all conference.

The team lost just three players: Welgosh, Amy Schubert and Joanne Pursel, and will return five starters in 1993.

 

1991 Women's Volleyball (9-12)


In their first year under head coach Dan Brzozowski and assistant Lynn Gates, the Cougars won their first ever Keystone Athletic Conference volleyball championship with a 5-0 KAC record. Overall they went 9-12. Team captain Joanie Schuk was the only senior on the team.
