Men's Tennis Season Summaries

2014 Men's Tennis
The Cougars finished 4-13.
 
Christian Pugliese won his first round match at third singles and teamed with Robert Knipper for a first round win at second doubles.
 
Tony Goodall was the men’s team MVP and Pugliese arned the Coach’s Award.

2013 Men's Tennis
Nick Hershey, Tony Goodall and Christian Pugliese all won first round matches at the MAC championships.
 
Goodall was the men’s team MVP.  A.J. Grasso earned the Coach’s Award.

2012 Men's Tennis
Fred Hockenbury was named first-team All-Freedom.
 
Hockenbury was the men’s team MVP.  Robert Knipper earned the Coach’s Award.

2011 Men's Tennis
The Misericordia University men’s tennis team finished 3-13.

Fred Hockenbury was named second-team All-Freedom.

Hockenbury was the men’s team MVP. Matt Erney earned the Coach’s Award.

Kyle Capozzi, Brett Ford, Justin Muthler, Frank Nutt, Nate Powers, were all seniors.


2010 Men's Tennis

In their third varsity season, the Cougars finished 6-12 overall.

MU was 3-2 in the Freedom Conference and qualified for the playoffs.

Brandon Lux was named second-team All-Freedom.

Fred Hockenbury (#2) advanced to the MAC semifinals.

Brett Ford (#4), Nate Powers (#5) and Justin Muthler (#6) all won their first round matches at the MAC championships.

Lux was the team MVP; Muthler earned the Coach's Award.



2009 Men's Tennis


In their second varsity season, the Cougars finished 6-7 overall and 2-5 in the Freedom Conference.

Fred Hockenbury (1st), Matt Hopkins (5th) and Justin Muthler (6th) all won their first-round matches at the MAC championships.

Hopkins and Muthler won their first MAC match at third doubles.

Muthler was the team MVP.

Hopkins was the team's lone senior and earned the Coach's Award.



2008 Men's Tennis


The Cougars finished 2-13 in their first varsity season.

Brett Ford reached the PAC quarter-finals at sixth singles.

Justin Muthler and Matt Hopkins qualified for the PAC Championships at second doubles.

Hopkins was named team MVP, and Ryan Calby earned the Coach's Award.
