ATHLETIC TRAINING
Through an agreement with Geisinger Health System,
Shauna Sick, Kim Howanitz, Robin Jackson, Tyler Christian, Olivia Morea and
Matt Pasquale serve as athletic trainers at MU.
Misericordia University's Athletic Training mission is to provide comprehensive and holistic care to every college student-athlete, promoting their physical, mental, and emotional well-being. We are dedicated to delivering the highest standard of medical attention, tailored to the individual needs of each athlete, and guided by principles of integrity, compassion, and excellence. Our commitment extends beyond injury management to encompass proactive prevention, rehabilitation, and performance optimization, empowering student-athletes to thrive both on and off the field.
Please Note: The Athletic Training Room is only open to the University-sponsored intercollegiate athletes. We can only evaluate athletes who play on one of these teams. If you are not on one of those teams, have an injury and need assistance, please visit Misericordia University Health Center for evaluation.
The athletic training staff works in a cooperative effort with the school's team physicians and the Student Health Center to meet the needs of the student-athlete. The athletic training staff primarily focuses on the prevention, assessment, management, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries. The staff also helps prepare the athlete for practices and competitions. The list of services also includes practice and game coverage, physician referral, neuropsychological testing and athletic screenings.
