Andrew Bennett

Andrew Bennett enters his third season as a member of the Misericordia Baseball coaching staff. He spent the previous two years as the MU graduate assistant. He will work with Cougar hitters and infielders.

A graduate of Hamline University (St. Paul, MN), Bennett spent one year as an assistant coach at his alma mater before becoming the head varsity baseball coach at Minneapolis South High School (Minneapolis, MN). In two seasons at South, Bennett led the Tigers to back-to-back conference championships and a combined overall record of 30-12.

As a player at Hamline, Bennett was three times named to the All-MIAC team and the All-Midwest Region team. He twice garnered ESPN the Magazine Academic All-American honors and currently holds the career home run record at Hamline. He also played summer baseball in both the former Central Illinois Collegiate League and the Hawaii Collegiate Baseball League.

Bennett also played parts of two seasons professionally with the St. Paul Saints of the independent American Association and the Southern Illinois Miners of the independent Frontier League, collecting three hits in his professional debut.

Bennett graduated from Hamline with degrees in physics and mathematics received his master's in organizational management from MU. 

He will also teach in the business department at Misericordia.
