Jim Ricardo

Jim Ricardo is currently in his third year as the Assistant Athletics Director and Director of Compliance for the 27 varsity sports at Misericordia University. 

Ricardo was the head men’s lacrosse coach at Misericordia University for 20 years. He led the Cougars to a winning record for nine straight seasons and finished with over 155 wins. 
 
Under Coach Ricardo, the Cougars finished 13-4 in 2017 and claimed their first MAC Freedom title and become the first MAC Freedom team to win an NCAA Tournament game.

In addition, Ricardo was named the 2017 MAC Freedom Coach of the Year and went over 100 wins for his career. 

In 2018, the Cougars set a school record for wins with a 14-2 mark while finishing second in the MAC Freedom.

MU has made two appearances in the ECAC Championships.

Before making the transition to the MAC Freedom in 2009, Ricardo led the Cougars to the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference playoffs three times in his first six seasons.

A graduate of Cortland State University, he previously served as an assistant coach at Virginia Wesleyan College.

During his collegiate playing career, he helped Cortland to a berth in the NCAA Championships.

Prior to that, he was a member of two national championship teams at Herkimer Community College where the team set a national record with 59 consecutive wins.

Ricardo also coached the United States U19 team to the silver medal at the 2010 FIL Festival in Manchester, England.
