Kyle Hayes is in his second year as the graduate assistant with the Misericordia University men's lacrosse team. In his first season as the assistant coach, the Cougars established a school records for wins in a season (14) and winning percentage (.875) and were undefeated record at home.

Hayes focused primarily on the defensive unit along with the substitution box.  The Cougars led the MAC Freedom in caused turnovers, clearing percentage and penalty-kill percentage and finished second in goals allowed. 

Five MU student-athletes were named to the All MAC-Freedom team in 2018, including the Offensive Player of the Year. The Cougars also reached the MAC Freedom championship game for the fourth consecutive year. 

Hayes also finished his second season in as a member of the coaching staff with the New York Lizards in the Major League Lacrosse where he served as the Advanced Scout Coordinator.  He assisted with scouting reports, film breakdown and game planning while helping the Lizards to an 8-6 record and the MLL Semifinals. 

Hayes previously served as the top assistant coach at Wheaton College where he worked primarily with the defense and substitution game while helping the team reach the NEWMAC playoffs.

He earned his BS in Business Administration from the University of Mississippi where he also served as the Director of Operations for the men’s lacrosse team.

Hayes began his collegiate career as a defenseman at Plattsburgh State (NY) before transferring to Ole Miss, where he was a two-time captain and three year starter in the MCLA (Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association).

He led Ole Miss in caused turnovers and guided the Rebels’ defense to a top-10 Goals Against Average in 2013.

In 2016, Hayes was the offensive coordinator at Marvin Ridge High School in Charlotte, NC where he coached six North Carolina all-state selections.  He also served as the head coach for Team 24/7’s U-18 club in Charlotte.
