Sam Sorokas scored her first career goal and Haley Ellis had two assists to lead the Misericordia University field hockey team to a 2-1 double-overtime at FDU-Florham, Saturday.

Trailing 1-0, Laura Leighow scored with 2:02 remaining in the first half with an assist from Ellis.

Sorokas tallied the game-winner three minutes into the second overtime off an assist from Ellis.

Ellen Howanitz made seven saves in goal for the Cougars.

MU is 12-5 overall and 5-2 in the Freedom Conference.

The Cougars will host Marywood in a non-league game, Wednesday at 4:00.
