The Misericordia University men's soccer team honored its seniors with Senior Appreciation Day Saturday, and the seniors returned the favor with a 5-1 storming of FDU-Florham.
Seniors Josh Buskirk, Max Campbell, Cody Hack, Tyler Mensch and Josh Stewart were honored during pregame ceremonies on the field.
Hack struck first with a hard shot to the upper net at 15:00. The goal is Hack's seventh of the season. He was assisted by Campbell and Joe DiGirolomo.
Tied 1-1 later in the half, midfielder Dan Pinto booted his third goal of the season at 40:15.
The Cougars got tougher in the second half. Campbell, Mensch and DiGirolomo all scored within seven minutes of each other. The goals were scored at 50:35, 56:08 and 57:30, respectively. Hack collected an assist on each of the three goals. He now leads the team with 11 assists.
The Cougars are now 13-2-1. They head to Wilkes Tuesday night and host Eastern next Saturday at 3:30 for the finale. Freedom Division Championships begin Nov. 4.
