The Misericordia University men's soccer team lost its regular season finale 3-2 in overtime to Eastern. The Cougars previously clinched top seed in the Freedom Championships with a win at Wilkes Thursday.
The Cougars took the lead at 11:31 when Tyler Mensch scored off a pass from Cody Hack. The goal was Mensch's 15th of the seaon—the second best mark in school history.
The Eagles tied and went ahead on goals by Brandon Gross and Mike Leitze, respectively.
The Cougars knotted it up at 55:02 with a goal by Max Campbell. Campbell just missed kicking a game-winner with four minutes to go in regulation.
Terry Fry won it for the Eagles at 96:00 in overtime.
MU will host the Eastern/Alvernia winner, Thursday at Mangelsdorf Field.
