The Misericordia University field hockey team was defeated 5-0 by Eastern in the semi-finals of the Freedom Conference Championships Wednesday afternoon.
Goalie Ellen Howanitz made 15 saves in the loss, but the Eagles put five into the net to capture their second consecutive victory over the Cougars. They closed out the regular season on Nov. 1, with a 3-1 win over the Cougars in Reading.
The Cougars will now wait and see if they are offered an Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships bid. That decision will be handed down on Monday.
