The Misericordia University baseball opened its season with doubleheader split at Shenandoah, Saturday.
The Cougars took the opener, 5-4, and dropped the nightcap, 8-4.
Nate Newman and
Mike D'Amara had a pair of hits in the opener and
Brandon Calafut had two RBI.
Brandon Gehm allowed just three hits over five innings to pick up the win and
Darren Morgan worked two innings for the save.
D'Amara had two hits and
Chris Messa drove in two runs in the nightcap.
