The Misericordia University softball team swept a doubleheader at Marywood, Wednesday, winning 12-0 in five innings and 5-4 in eight innings.

The Cougars improved to 7-5 overall and 2-0 in the PAC.

Kat Lucenti picked up the win on the mound for the Cougars in both games and drove in the game-winning run in the nightcap.

In the opener, Lucenti allowed just two hits over five innings of work while striking out two. In the nightcap, Lucenti belted a two-run double in the eighth inning after Marywood rallied to tie game in the seventh.

In game one, Misericordia jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the third inning and added eight runs in the fifth, highlighted by Katie Eiden's three-run homer.

In the nightcap, Misericordia jumped out to and early 3-0 lead but needed extra frames to pull out the 5-4 win. 

Eiden started on the mound and went four innings and allowed one run on three hits and struck out three. 

Molly Martin struck out one over two innings before being relieved by Lucenti.

Nicole Hoskins and Courtney Novajosky both had two hits for MU.
