Ryan Dauley and
Cody Hack combined for seven-plus innings of three-hit relief to lead the Misericordia University baseball team to its third straight win, 11-8 at Eastern, Friday.
Dauley went 4-1/3 innings to pick up the win and Hack tossed three shutout innings to earn the save.
Chris Matthews had three hits and two RBI and
Brandon Calafut added three hits.
Chris Messa and
Jamie Phillipi both had two hits.
Eastern jumped out to a 7-1 lead after two innings, but the Cougars responded with five runs in the top of the third and Dauley and Hack held the Eagles to one run the rest of the way.
The Cougars took the lead with three runs in the fifth on RBI-singles by Calafut, Phillipi and an RBI-walk by
Nate Newman.
Miseicordia improved to 7-11 overall and 2-2 in the PAC. The Cougars will host Eastern for a doubleheader, Saturday at noon.
