The Misericordia University baseball team scored six runs over the final three innings, but it wasn't quite enough in a 9-8 loss to Wilkes, Tuesday.
Wilkes jumped out to an 8-1 lead and added the eventual game-winner in the top of the ninth after MU pulled to within 8-7 with five runs in the bottom of the eighth.
Jamie Philippi had three hits to lead MU while
Mike D'Amara had two hits, including a three-run homer.
Nate Newman and
Bryan Crum both had two hits and two RBI for the Cougars.
MU, 10-17, will visit Keystone for an non-conference game, Wednesday.
