The Misericordia University baseball team opened a three-game series with Centenary with a 6-4 win, Friday afternoon.
Mike Murphy, Chris Messa, Jamie Philippi and
Nate Newman all had two hits for the Cougars while
Mike D'Amara drove in two runs.
The Cougars grabbed an early 5-1 lead and added an insurance run in the eighth inning after Centenary scored three times in the seventh.
Kevin Gilmore went 6-1/3 innings for the win while
Cody Hack worked 2-2/3 innings of scoreless relief to notch the save.
Misericordia will travel to Centenary for a doubleheader, Saturday.
