Lindsay Miller's two-out, two-run single in the bottom of the seventh inning gave the Misericordia University softball team a 3-2 win and a sweep over Alvernia, Friday afternoon at Anderson Field.
Winning pitcher
Katie Eiden started the inning with a single and advanced to third when
Courtney Novajosky reached on a two-out error.
Miller followed with the game-winning hit as the Cougars improved to 21-9 and moved past Alvernia into second place in the PAC at 11-3.
Miller and
Kristen Norris both had two hits to MU in the nightcap while Eiden struck out four and allowed just three hits.
MU won the opener, 4-3, behind
Kat Lucenti's six-hitter.
Nicole Hoskins gave the Cougars a 3-0 lead with a two-run single in the third inning and MU held off a late Alvernia rally.
Misericordia will visit Immaculata, Saturday.
