The Misericordia University softball team batted around in the sixth inning to pull out an 8-7 win in the nightcap and salvage a split with Wilkes, Wednesday afternoon at Anderson Field.
Misericordia scored five runs in the frame to erase a 5-2 deficit and helf off a Wilkes rally in the seventh inning.
Nicole Hoskins led off the sixth inning with a single and after pinch-runner
Christine Reesey advanced to third on a pair of passed balls,
Gina Urbon walked and
Nicole Wenner drove in Reesey with a single.
After a pitching change,
Kristen Norris,
Molly Martin and
Lindsay Miller drew consecutive walks to force in two more runs.
Courtney Novajosky and
Hollie Sarnak both reached on error's as the Cougars built a three-run lead.
Kat Lucenti worked six-plus innings to pick up the win for the Cougars with
Katie Eiden earning the save.
Nicole Wenner had two hits and two RBI for the Cougars.
Eiden was the tough-luck loser in the opener, allowing just four hits in the 1-0 loss.
Sarnak had two hits for the Cougars.
