Laura Leighow scored two goals to lead the Misericordia University field hockey team to a 5-1 win over Gwynedd-Mercy, Wednesday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.

Camilla Hansen, Jen Lozier and Haley Ellis all added goals as the Cougars improved to 2-1.

Leighow gave MU a 1-0 lead less five minutes into the game with an assist from Heather DiMenno.

After GMC tied the score two minutes later, Hansen scored off a corner midway through the period and Leighow made it 3-1 with nine minutes remaining in the first half.

Lozier and Ellis closed out the scoring with goals in the first seven minutes of the second period.

MU held a 24-15 edge in shots.

Ellen Howanitz made 11 saves in goal.
