The Misericordia field hockey team fell to 6-10 on the season after losing 3-2 this afternoon, away to Marywood.

Camilla Hansen and Samantha Sorokas scored for MU, but the Cougars were unable to recover after falling behind 3-1 early in the second half.

Marywood took the lead just over a minute into the game, before Hansen tied it up 1-1, finishing a rebound after the Pacer goalie had saved Kelsey DeBruyne's initial shot.

Marywood quickly regained the lead and then extended it to 3-1 seven minutes after halftime. Sorokas pulled MU within one with fifteen minutes to play, but the Cougars were unable to complete the comeback.

Misericordia held significant advantages in both shots (17-9) and penalty corners (12-5), but couldn't put a third goal past Marywood goalie Jamie Bowman, who made eight saves. Freshman Grace Riker made four stops for the Cougars.

Bowman made two big saves in the final two minutes for Marywood. MU's Amanda Blank also hit the post in that frantic Cougar flurry, which saw three penalty corners awarded to Misericordia, but ultimately no goals.

MU will travel to Delaware Valley on Wednesday as they finish the regular season with four conference games. With a 1-2 Freedom Conference record, the Cougars are only one game behind fourth-placed Delaware Valley, meaning Wednesday's match-up will be crucial for Misericordia's playoff hopes.
