The Misericordia women's basketball team (12-12, 7-8) lost 49-43 to Wilkes Tuesday night but clinched a spot in the Freedom Conference playoffs with FDU-Florham and Delaware Valley losses.

 

Jesse Robinson and Lacey DeGraw each scored 14 in the overtime loss. Courtney Sykes added nine.

 

The Cougars led 24-17 at halftime after capping the first half with a 7-0 run. DeGraw and Sykes each scored seven before the break.

 

Sykes made the Cougars' only field goal of the first 13 minutes of the second half. The lull allowed the Colonels to climb back into the game and lead by as much as seven points. Robinson's layup with 1:48 to play tied the game at 37-37 and eventually forced overtime.

 

The Cougars were outscored 12-6 in overtime.

 

They close the season on the road at Delaware Valley Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
