The Misericordia University softball team opened the season with a pair of wins Sunday at the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimee, Florida.
The Cougars beat Clarke (IA), 6-3, in the opener and topped Heidelberg, 8-0.
Gina Urbon belted two homers and drove in four runs against Clarke and
Nicole Hoskins had a two-run double.
Courtney Novajosky added a double while
Kat Lucenti scattered eight hits to pick up the win.
Katie Eiden tossed a two-hitter in the nightcap and aided her own cause with two hits and two runs scored. She struck out six and allowed one walk.
Hoskins had two hits, including a double, and one RBI.
MU will face Bluffton and Gwynedd-Mercy, Monday.
