The Misericordia University softball team rallied for a 5-3 win the in the nightcap to salvage a split with Manhattanville, Saturday at Anderson Field.
Nicole Wenner had two hits, including a two-run homer and
Caitlin Cromley added two hits to make a winner of
Kat Lucenti, who worked both games on the mound.
Trailing 3-1 in the fourth, Cromley led off with a double to right-center and Wenner followed with a game-tying homer to center.
In the fifth, Cromley and Wenner singled to load the bases before Lucenti forced in the go-ahead run with a walk.
Courtney Novajosky added an insurance run with a single up the middle.
Lucenti tossed a four-hitter and struck out five to earn the win.
In the opener, Boccia had two hits and two RBI and Lucenti scattered nine hits in the loss while striking out eight.
MU took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first on Boccia's single up the middle.
The Cougars made it 2-1 in the second when Cromley and Hoskins sandwiched walks around singles by Novajosky and
Hollie Sarnak.
Manhattanville took the lead with single runs in the fourth, fifth and seventh innings.
Boccia drilled a solo homer to center in the bottom of the seventh.
Misericordia will host Elmira, Sunday at 1:00.
