Lauren Verret was a double winner as the Misericordia University women's tennis team fell 6-3 to high-flying Hunter, Saturday.
Verret won 6-2, 6-1 at fifth singles and also teamed with
Ellyn Wingert to win 8-3 at third doubles.
The other MU winner was
Courtney Otto with a marathon 4-6, 7-5, 10-5 triumph at fourth singles.
The Hawks had come into the match with a 13-4 record for the 2009-10 season, including a nine-match winning streak earlier in the year.
At first singles, MU's number-one,
Abby Searfoss, fell 6-1, 6-3 to Hunter's
Evgeniya Kim. Kim is now 15-1 on the season.
The Cougars fall to 8-7 with the loss and will travel to Marywood next Saturday.
