Ashley Ballard drove in the only run of the game in the top of the seventh to lead the Misericordia University softball team to a 1-0 win over Centenary in the opening round of the ECAC South championships, Thursday.

Nicole Wenner doubled off the right centerfield fence to put runners on second and third and set the stage for Ballard.
Caitlin Cromley had a double for Misericordia's only other hit.
Wenner actually a two-run home run in the top of the fourth, but was called out on an appeal.
Kat Lucenti went the distance to earn the win to improve to 21-12. She surrendered just two hits and allowed four walks.
Misericordia, the two-time defending ECAC champions, improved to 27-16.
