The Misericordia field hockey lost to Catholic, 5-1, Sunday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.
Camilla Hansen scored the lone goal for the Cougars with an assist from
Emily Foley.
After Catholic jumped ahead 2-0 in the first 10 minutes, the teams played evenly throughout the remainder of the first half.
MU's best scoring chance of the opening period came with 13:00 remaining when
Samantha Sorokas ripped a shot off a penalty corner, but the Cardinals' goalie made the save.
After Catholic went ahead 3-0 with a 10 minutes into the second period, Hansen responded less than a minute later.
Foley centered a pass from the right side and Hansen punched it in.
Catholic answered just three minutes later and added an insurance goal with under 10 minutes remaining.
MU, 3-5, will play at Montclair, Wednesday.
