The Misericordia University field hockey team suffered a tough 3-2 loss at Wilkes, Tuesday night.
Katie Gabriele and
Samantha Sorokas both scored goals for the Cougars, while
Haley Ellis added an assist.
Grace Riker and
Haley Brandt combined for eight saves in goal for MU.
Gabriele gave the Cougars a 1-0 lead late in the first half when she took a pass from Ellis at the top of the circle and shot inside the left post at 30:19.
Wilkes scored twice in less than a minute early in the second half to take a 2-1 lead at 42:27.
Sorokas tied the score just six minutes later with an unassisted goal inside the right post at 48:38.
The Colonels notched the game-winner with just under 10 minutes remaining.
MU is 3-10 overall and 1-5 in the Freedom Conference and will travel to Delaware Valley, Thursday.
