Senior Matt Scott scored a pair of goals and the Misericordia University men's soccer team clinched a Freedom Conference playoff berth with a 4-0 “Senior Appreciation Day” win over Delaware Valley, Sunday at Mangelsdorf Field.

Eric Kishbaugh and Andy Bush both added a goal and an assist as the Cougars ended the regular season at 12-2-3 and 4-2-1 in the Freedom.

The Cougars went ahead 1-0 when Kishbaugh found a wide-open Scott in the box and he finished from 12 yards out.

MU went ahead 2-0 when Bush dribbled into the box and passed to Kishbaugh who slotted the ball home for a 2-0 lead at 16:46.

Less than a minute later, Bush gathered a loose ball in the box and made a defender miss before burying a goal from five yards out for a 3-0 lead.

The score held until the closing minutes when Scott scored off his own rebound to make it 4-0 with under three minutes to play.  Scott turned in the box and his first shot was saved, but he buried the rebound into an empty net at 86:26.
