Christine Marks had another big game to lead the Misericordia University women's basketball team to a 74-53 win over Manhattanville, Saturday afternoon at the Anderson Center.
Marks had 24 points and 19 rebounds as the Cougars improved to 3-3 overall and 2-0 in the Freedom Conference.
Hannah Seely had 14 points and
Tyann McDaniel and
Jesse Robinson added 13 and 10, respectively.
The Cougars led 30-28 at halftime and built a 12-point lead midway through the second half and pulled away in the final five minutes.
Seely converted a steal into a layup and Marks drained a three-pointer from the top of the key to put MU up 45-33 with 12:16 to play.
Manhattanville cut the lead to six, but McDaniel answered with a three-pointer and Marks converted a three-point play for a 51-41 lead with 9:08 to go.
Kayla Sileo made it 53-41 with a layup off a nice pass from
Katie Drayton and Robinson added two free throws for a 55-42 lead with 6:30 left.
McDaniel had five assists and Drayton and Sileo both added four assists while Seely had three steals.
The Cougars will host Lebanon Valley, Tuesday.
