The Misericordia University women's basketball team closed out first semester action with an impressive 72-47 win at Baptist Bible, Thursday.
Christine Marks led MU with 22 points and 10 rebounds and
Tyann McDaniel added 12 points and six assists.
Hannah Seely added 12 points and five rebounds and
Kayla Sileo added 11 points.
The Cougars opened an early eight-point lead on four points each from Marks and Seely to go ahead 12-4.
After BBC rallied to take their only lead of the game, 13-12, McDaniel and Marks both drained three-pointers to put the Cougars ahead for good, 18-15.
Leading 20-19, McDaniel scored seven points to ignite a 15-0 run as the Cougars took a 35-19 lead.
The Defenders pulled within 11, 39-28, early in the second half, but that is as close as they came.
The Cougars are 4-4 and are off until the Juniata Holiday Tournament, December 29-30.
