The Misericordia University baseball team dropped its Freedom Conference opener, 7-3, Sunday at DeSales.
Ken Durling had pair of RBI-doubles and
Andrew Tressa had two hits and scored twice.
Nate Newman added a solo home run for the Cougars.
MU took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second when Newman led off with a solo homer.
Trailing 2-1 in the fourth, Tressa singled and came around to score on Durling's double down the leftfield line.
The Cougars took a 3-2 lead in the sixth on back-to-back doubles by Tressa and Durling.
Starting pitcher
Pat Clark allowed just three earned runs over six-plus innings and didn't factor in the decision.
DeSales went ahead 5-3 with a three-run seventh and added a pair of insurance runs in the eighth.
Misericordia, 9-4, will travel to Moravian, Wednesday.
