Emily Hullings hit a two-run triple with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift the Misericordia University softball team to a 4-3 win over 17th-ranked Moravian in the first game of a doubleheader, Thursday at Anderson Field.
Moravian took the nightcap, 6-3.

Sami Cragle added three hits and two RBI in the opener and Caitlin Cromley scattered eight hits to pick up the win.

In the nightcap, Hollie Sarnak had two hits and Kat LaBrie drove in two runs.

In the opener, Moravian took a 3-2 lead with a pair of runs in the top of the seventh to set the stage for Hullings.

Cragle doubled with one and Jill Castaldi reached on an error. Following an infield pop out, Hullings ripped a shot to the fence in the right center field gap to bring home pinch-runner Jess Armillay and Castaldi.

MU took a 1-0 lead in the second when Nicole Wenner led off with a single and moved to third on Nicole Boccia's double to right center.

Cromley walked to load the bases and after a fielder's choice, Cragle singled to drive in Boccia.

Moravian tied the score on a sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth, but the Cougars regained the lead in the bottom of the frame.

With one out, Cromley lined a single to left center and scampered to second when the ball got by the outfielder.

One out later, Cragle singled to center to bring in pinch-runner Marissa Chiampi with the go-ahead run.

The score stood until the Greyhounds rallied for two runs in the top of the seventh.

In the nightcap, Moravian grabbed a 1-0 lead in the second and tacked on runs in the fourth and sixth innings before adding three unearned runs in the seventh.

The Cougars rallied for three runs in their half of the seventh and brought the tying run to the plate with two outs.

Sarnak led off with a double and scored on Wenner's single. Maggy Hanlon singled to put runners at first and second.

After two pop outs, LaBrie doubled in two runs to bring MU within 6-3. Jill Castaldi singled to bring the tying run to the plate, but the Greyhounds made a pitching change and got a strikeout to end the game.
