Hollie Sarnak had six hits and
Nicole Wenner drove in five runs in the Misericordia University softball team's split at Neumann, Wednesday.
After Neumann scored twice in the bottom of the seventh to win the opener, 4-3, MU took the nightcap, 6-5.
Sarnak had three hits in the opener and Wenner had a two-run triple and Nicole Boccia had a double.
Sarnak had three more hits in the nightcap and Wenner had two hits and drove in three runs, including a two-run homer.
Caitlin Cromley had two hits and picked up the win with three innings of relief work.
MU took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth in game when Sarnak led off with a single and came around to score on Boccia's pinch-hit double.
The Cougars made it 3-0 with a pair of runs in the fifth. Jen Cory was hit by a pitch and moved to second on
Maria Kidron's sacrifice before
Amanda Polaha reached on an error.
After pinch-runner
Emily Hullings stole second, Wenner tripled down the rightfield line to drive in two runs.
Neumann closed within a run with runs in the fifth and sixth and won the game with a two-out, two-run double in the bottom of the seventh.
Trailing 4-3 in the nightcap, the Cougars rallied for three runs in the top of the sixth inning. Cromley led off with a single and Polaha walked and
Kat LaBrie drove in a run when she reached on an infield error to tie the score.
Kidron loaded the bases with an infield single and Hullings put the Cougars ahead 5-4 on a fielder's choice. Sarnak made it 6-4 on a sacrifice fly.
MU took a 1-0 lead in the first when Sarnak beat out an infield single with two outs and moved up on a wild pitch before coming home on Wenner's single.
Sarnak again singled with two outs in the third and Wenner made it 3-0 with a two-run homer.
Misericordia, 17-15, will wrap up Freedom Conference play when they host FDU-Florham, Saturday at 1:00.
