The Misericordia field hockey team ended a four-game road trip with a tough 1-0 loss at Alvernia, Tuesday night.
Alvernia's Tonya Rutt scored the game's only goal just 5:17 into the first half.
The Crusaders nearly made it 2-0 early in the second half, but
Megan Lafaw saved Rutt's shot and
Grace Riker stopped Mirando Peto's rebound attempt.
Riker made 10 saves in goal for the Cougars.
MU, 1-3, will host Montclair in their home opener, Saturday at 1:00.
