The Misericordia University field hockey team dropped a heartbreaking 1-0 overtime decision in their Freedom Conference opener, Saturday afternoon at DeSales.

Misericordia held a convincing advantage in shots, 16-7, and corners, 16-4, but were unable to find the back of the cage.

Haley Brandt made three saves in goal for the Cougars.

MU, 1-6, will host Cabrini, Tuesday at 4:00.
