The Misericordia University women's field hockey team could never get its offense going, falling at perennial Freedom power Eastern, 8-0, Saturday afternoon in St. David's, Pa.

The Cougars held with the Eagles for the first 15 minutes, but Eastern got on the board in the 16th minute, as Megan Bolton scored on an assist from Brittany Moyer off a corner.

Moyer then scored a pair of goals of her own in the 22nd and 26th minutes to extend the lead to 3-0. The Cougars gave up an own goal in the 32nd minute to make it 4-0 at halftime.
