Andy Bush moved closer to becoming Misericordia's all-time leading scorer in men's soccer while leading the Cougars to a 2-0 win at Delaware Valley, Saturday.
Bush and
Nick vonEgypt scored first half goals as the Cougars improved to 8-4-1 overall and 2-0 in the Freedom.
Delaware Valley was guilty of handling on
Greg Korhonen's shot midway through the first half and Bush converted the penalty kick at 28:02 to increase his career points total to 105, just three behind Todd Bardua.
Bush is now tied with Mike Blasi for second place in school history with 42 career goals.
vonEgypt scored from six yards out less than eight minutes later to give MU an insurance goal at 35:28.
Billy Sopko made one save to earn his second straight win in goal.
The Cougars played against a stiff wind in the second half and got a solid defensive effort from
T.J. Schaefer to preserve the shutout.
MU held a 13-7 edge in shots and had a 9-5 advantage in corners.
Misericordia will host Eastern, Tuesday at 7:00.
