The Misericordia University field hockey team dropped a Freedom Conference decision at FDU-Florham, 5-2, Monday.
Emily Hegner and
Terra Hall both scored for the Cougars.
FDU grabbed an early lead with a goal just two minutes into the game and added an insurance goal 10 minutes later.
Hegner cut the deficit in half with an unassisted goal with 13 minutes to play in the first half.
FDU stretched the lead to 4-1 with a pair of goals in a five-minute span before halftime.
Hall punched in a loose ball off a corner with just over 10 minutes to play to make it 4-2, but the Devils answered with a goal just seven minutes later.
MU will host Franklin & Marshall, Wednesday at 5:30.
