MU Ends First Season With Loss to Lycoming

Box Score The first football season ever at Misericordia University came to a close with a hard-fought 38-0 loss to Lycoming, Saturday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.

The Cougars ended the season at 0-10 (0-9 MAC) while Lycoming finished 8-2 (8-1 MAC).

Michael Pheasant completed five passes for 84 yards, including 64 yards on two catches by Tyler Rowe.

Sean Weg and Ben Camacho led the defense with eight tackles each while Michael Comerford and Phil Arnold both had seven stops.

The MU defense came up with several big plays, including an interception in the end zone by Arnold to thwart Lycoming on their first possession of the game.

The Cougars forced a Lycoming punt on their second possession as well, but the Warriors finally got on the board on the last play of the first quarter.

Misericordia picked up a first down on its second drive of the second quarter.  After two rushes by Cody Lamoreaux,
Pheasant found Tom Stelzer along the right sideline for an eight-yard gain and a first down.

Lycoming made it 14-0 on its next possession and the Warriors tacked on a field goal with no time left on the clock in the first half.

The Warriors added a pair of touchdowns late in the third quarter and ended the scoring with just under seven minutes remaining.
